Silicone
Silicone's non-leechable high purity characteristics make it a #1 choice in many pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharm industry applications. With a wide temperature range of -58°F to 446°F, it's ideal for autoclaving and sanitizing repetitively in hand cleaning. Its flexibility is great even in ice-cream applications.
This gasket meets all FDA Title 21 CFR 177.2600, USDA, 3A® and cGMP specifications.
Temperature Range: -58°F to 446°F
Teflon®
Teflon®is the material of choice whenever low temperature flexibility or O-Ring memory is not required (not recommended where large temperature variations occur frequently, leakage can occur). Teflon® has almost no extractables, has a low absorption rate and excellent resistance to process fluids. It can remain in service for longer periods of time in both water and steam. For continuous use, high pressure clamps are recommended to prevent leakage resulting from temperature variations.
This O-Ring meets all FDA Title 21 CFR 177.2600, USDA, 3A® and cGMP specifications.
Teflon® O-Rings are animal-derived ingredient free and meet USP Class IV, EP 3.1.9, and cytotoxicity specifications.
Temperature Range: -100°F to 500°F
Viton®
Viton® offers excellent chemical resistance, especially to many acids and alkalies. The best choice for many pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive, or fuel applications. These gaskets are not recommended for sterilization.
This O-Ring meets all FDA Title 21 CFR 177.2600, USDA, 3A® and cGMP specifications.
Viton® O-Rings are animal-derived ingredient free and meet USP Class IV, EP 3.1.9, and cytotoxicity specifications.
Temperature Range: -30°F to 400°F
Buna-N
Buna-N is very flexible and has great compression qualities. This low cost O-Ring is used in many throw away applications.
Buna-N is the last choice in most applications due to temperature limitations, and does not pass U.S. Pharmacopeia Class VI Certification and Cytotoxicity.
This O-Ring meets all FDA Title 21 CFR 177.2600, USDA, 3A® and cGMP specifications.
Temperature Range: -30°F to 200°F
EPDM
Black EPDM offers good chemical resistance. An economical choice for water, acetone, or ketone applications.
This O-Ring meets all FDA Title 21 CFR 177.2600, USDA, 3A® and cGMP specifications.
EPDM O-Rings are animal-derived ingredient free and meet USP Class IV, EP 3.1.9, and cytotoxicity specifications.
Temperature Range: -65°F to 212°F
