DIN fittings (Deutsches Institut für Normung) are mainly used throughout Germany and Europe. Sometimes they are also found on Italian Equipment. They can be found mostly in the hygienic industries. DIN fittings are known to withstand great pressure. They use a threaded nut, female threaded ferrule, and a gasket to provide the seal. DIN gaskets are available in two types: flanged (which provides a flush and gap free joint) or the more common unlipped standard seal.
